Most of my photography is personal, travel, holidays, adventures etc.... what isn't, tends to end up here, beginning in the digital age around 2014 when my interest in photography as a hobby rekindled after a long space between the darkroom and digital where I mostly shot memories on Kodachrome 64, taking my last Kodachrome in 2004. To my shame I didn't notice its demise 5 years later.

I started in film trying to achieve a moody, reflective look in the darkroom by particular developing, dodging and burning, something I do now in digital with much more ease. That aesthetic probably came from seeing early British documentary photographers highlighting urban landscapes, typical of those I grew up in, with dark, moody, contrasty, often grainy images. some of that clearly rubbed off on me.

I’d probably point to Don McCullin as one of my favourite photographers.

I’m definitely in the school of making not just taking a photograph and most comfortable with B&W, less so with colour.

I don’t use AI except that available in editors such as masking or subject selection.
