Welcome to the Outer Banks History Center Flickr site where we share some of the many wonderful photographs held within our vast and varied collections.

The Outer Banks History Center is a regional archives and research library administered by the North Carolina State Archives and located in Manteo, on historic Roanoke Island, North Carolina. Its holdings document the history, development and growth of the North Carolina coast.

The History Center's collections are made up of books, periodicals, maps, photographs, oral history recordings, microfilm and manuscripts. The center was founded in 1989 when local writer and historian, David Stick (1919-2009), donated his personal library and research materials to the North Carolina Department of Cultural Resources.
