Occupation: seaweed wrangler (marine scientist)
I nearly pursued a career in art, partly completing a Fine Art Degree, that encompassed photography and graphic design. I was using SRL and film. Life and various other things got in the way and I took an alternative track completing a PhD in Marine Science. All the while I still held an interest in taking photos that capture the awesome landscapes that are all around us. I am constantly in awe of sea and the beauty it reflects and it is the sea that inspires my work. Nature is a magical thing, whimsical and powerful at the same time, it never ceases to amaze me in its intricacy and complexity. It is the simplicity, the order, the ever changing view that I try to portray in my art. I have recently branched out into manipulated images using my own images, textures and a spoonful of photoshop
I have lived in Tasmania all my life (but they let me out from time to time :) where I can endulge my passion.
Other interests include sailing, papermaking, cooking, reading, beach combing
