Occupational Assessment Center has been in business since 2001. We are associated with Occupational Performance Corporation in Salina, KS. Our job is to assists employers prevent workplace injuries by utilizing the Physical Capacity Profiler® to determine if an employee has the proper strength to perform their job duties before they start work. Our testing system provides an employer documentation of an employee’s physical ability and
physical impairments before employment to minimize their potential for on the job injury and minimize employer’s workers compensation payouts. Studies have shown that individuals whose strength matches or exceeds the physical requirements of the job are less likely to be injured, as compared to those individuals lacking the required strength. By decreasing injuries, production is increased and lost work time is decreased. Federal and state laws and the EEOC allow employers to test employees.
The ADA expressly permits an employer to conduct a post-hire medical exam and to condition the job offer on the employee passing the exam, provided
(1) It gives all entering employees in the same job classification the same examination,
