Welcome to the official Flickr page of the Public Design Commission’s Archive.

Established in 1898 as the Art Commission, New York City’s design review agency was renamed the Public Design Commission in July 2008 to better reflect its mission. The Commission reviews permanent works of architecture, landscape architecture and art proposed on or over City-owned property. Since 1902, the Commission has maintained an extensive archive that documents the projects it has reviewed. The Archive includes original drawings, photographs and architectural plans that provide a unique view into the history of New York City’s public works as well as materials that were acquired by Commission members and staff for reference and inspiration.
