I'm currently sorting through a huge backlog of photos from my trip to China in the summer of 2010. I will be adding up to a dozen photos a week for the next couple of months. Hopefully you don't get tired of them.
Generally, my photos document where I've been and what I notice while i'm there. As such, not every photo is taken for purely aesthetic qualities, but rather to help tell a story. Unfortunately, I don't always have the time to accompany the photo with a detailed description.
On another note... I have searched many Flickr photostreams and have been struck by how glimpses of my travels can be seen through the photos of others. So many of us travel, camera in hand, in search of the same great places to be inspired. I don't see this as a bad thing. As a member of the design community I often hear about how taking a picture is the shortcut and that creativity only comes from the hand of other arts. I have never believed this. Just ask those that have waited hours with me for the light to become just right, the clouds just right, the design just right. My point is, even if we often cross footprints in the same terrain, photography can be a driving force that leads us to explore places that we may otherwise never see. Some of the images may be similar, but the stories that accompany them are all different.
