Emerging from a number of hard years, and find my self in a new country, close to my family and brimming with ideas.

Some days I'd rather live my life than photograph it, and other times there's a melding between mind and lens and the camera becomes a way to extract meaning from my life to display, making the invisible into the obvious. Other times I like to invent realities using a combination of in-camera tomfoolery and post-processing.

I've got a huge backlog of photos to process, as it takes a special state of mind, and loads of patience to get through them.

I love my flickr friends, even if I've been remote for some time. Here I've found a community of visual thinkers which have given me so much warmth, consideration, and inspiration. I hope I've been able to return even a fraction of what you've given me.

My interests include botanical medicine and herbal body care; designing web sites, and printed media for projects I respect; thinking about social businesses, community empowerment and sustainable development.

We live in "interesting times", in the sense meant by the Chinese proverb, with broken institutions, crazified people, and environments that are hemorrhaging. Now is a time for us to pause, consider, and transform our lives into one of action to pull our world back from the brink.

To that end, I'm in the early stages of starting a web 'zine called PUTAZO! with the goal of disseminating writing around culture and strategy for the Americas. Would like to invite my Flickr comrades to contribute.
