Attention friends, contacts, my dear subscribers, and fellow Flickerites:

 

And the final verdict at Flickr is in:

 

It has been 10 days since the great New and Improved (tm) Flickr Debacle. Tens of thousands of complaints, dozens of threads requesting action, and little to no response from the Flickr and Yahoo! support staff, until today, when according to Thea Lamkin and her Yahoo! corporate masters:

 

"To put an end to speculation, and to hopefully give some people closure, the old site is not coming back. However, we will continue to improve upon the new pages, from their usability to their overall performance. These changes will be made according to a balance of qualitative feedback and data, both of which we are monitoring closely."

 

And so my final verdict is in as well:

 

I am officially done with Flickr. I can no longer function in an environment such as this, one where I cannot even control my own web page's layout or how the rest of you see my photos or thumbnails. In their great wisdom they created a layout that's disfunctional, confusing, unviewable, and which cuts off the heads of all my models in mandatory, SQUARE, zoomed-in thumbnails! Nor do I feel that my photographs and material is safe there any more. So I promptly marched into the Ipernity membership center and effective immediately got myself a Club membership.

 

There will be no new material posted here on Flickr. The process of migrating all my galleries, all my images has begun. As soon as the migration is complete, I will be shutting down my account on Flickr. Notices will be posted to my viewers and contacts as soon as possible, and I hope I can continue to delight people with my images and continue to take my viewers on a visual adventure - now from Ipernity.

I am an avid photographer of many subjects, my favorite being cosplay and event photography (such as anime and sci fi / fantasy conventions, air shows, sailing, weddings, raves, auto shows), nature, fashion, landscape, and art.

 

I work both with film and digital. I have used film exxlusively from 1998 to 2006, then I began to expand into digital photography, I have been using a professional digital system since 2010, but still love and will continue to shoot on slides and film.

 

I always enjoy meeting and hearing from fellow photographers, models and enthusiasts. If you appear in one of my pictures, please drop me a note! I'd love to hear from you. Compliments are always welcome, constructive criticism appreciated, but obsenities of any kind will not be tolerated

 

I expect proper respect be shown to the models and people that appear in my photographs. Any obsene language or remarks regarding your bodily functions or sexual organs will get you banned.

 

Feel free to add me as a contact or more, but I do hope that you have something to share in return. If you have nothing to share in return, don't expect me to add you. If your hobby is collecting porn, go look somewhere else! If all you have is obsene pictures of yourself and your body parts, you will be blocked. I'm not interested in your filth. Besides, my picture collection is better than yours anyways :P If all you do is repost other people's pictures,I'm not interested. Flickr is for photography, not a porn picture trading site.

 

And finally, don't add me as a friend & family if you have nothing to share. I consider that an insult and you will be blocked. Got all that? Good.
