The New Sacramento Courthouse in the former Southern Pacific Railyards, will replace the aging courthouse in the Gordon Schaber building in Downtown Sacramento. The new courthouse building will be 17 stories above grade with a subterranean single story parking garage and secure defendant entrance. The main entrance will face the north, on G street, and will be served by the existing public parking lot at 725 7th Street. The new courthouse building will achieve LEED Silver certification, indicating the State's commitment to energy and resource conservation. The exterior will be clad in white precast concrete panels on the east and west facades, with glazed curtain walls on the north and south.
