I'm Kristy Cunningham. I'm a User Experience Designer at Hobsons working relentlessly to create the world changers of tomorrow! I recently graduated from MSU's Serious Game Design M.A. Program and am inspired by how "play" can enhance user experience and improve design and design practice. I believe play is important to students, and seek to design and create experiences, interactions, characters, worlds, stories, and games that inspire wonder and spark the imagination.

So what is my story?

I have over three years of experience creating digital media and interactive designs. This includes my exciting design position with Hobsons and experiences making digital games during graduate career at Michigan State University. However, I've been a digital media hobbyist since 2001, crafting personal websites and applying digital art techniques just to learn new skills.

I have a little over three years of experience creating art professionally, but my family can assure you that I've been an art hobbyist and flip book enthusiast since I could hold a crayon.

I've been making games for fun and my own education since 2010, but imagining worlds to play in since 1987 (ask me about my paracosm).

I have four years of experience as a learner centered educator working relentlessly in a fast paced environment (two years as a Teach for America Corps Member and two years as a substitute teacher/adjunct instructor).Yet, I've been passionate about the achievement gap since 1996, when realized I had to make my own opportunities on account of the gap between my rural high school curriculum and the suburbs.

In other worlds, I've been imagining, dreaming, questing, and persevering since I had the words to tell a story.
