NOTE: If you want to invite me to a group, do so via a message to me, but do not send me an invite out of the blue. Doing so is viewed, on my part, as a cold, faceless, mass-mailing -- does that sound like a description for SPAM? -- yes, it does! That's how I will treat it. So, if you want me to join a group, send me a message, telling me about the group, why I should join, and give me the link to join, as well as the link to check out the group.
I spent around 20 years working as a journalist, as well as doing some freelance work for magazines. After that, I spent another decade doing a lot of freelance writing, but also writing columns and other online content for a variety of sites.
Over the years, I also shot most of my own photos and other artwork to accompany the articles I wrote. I also shot a lot of on-the-spot photos, sometimes breaking news, other times just "feature" stuff -- happy stuff people like to see, such as kids at the local pool, a family outing to the ice cream shop on a hot summer evening, and such. I loved finding the human element to summarize the day's events. Besides, sometimes it brought people their 15 minutes of fame, and for feel-good photos, that's a good thing.
I still do a lot of writing, both for myself, for others, and for a variety of Websites. The only difference now is that a lot of the work is for non-profit sites, meaning I do a lot of philanthropical work. Helping others is always a good thing to do.
Be sure to sleep well every night. Check out Awake In America, too.
TV and "entertainment"
Is TV "entertainment" for the masses? You can't prove that statement by me, especially if you're Hollywood trying to garner the highest ratings. I detest most of what I on television, as it's pure garbage. There's hardly anything on the boob tube that's of any real value. Most shows are mind-mush and do little more than promote sleeping around, being a debased, valueless, amoral swine that is willing to kill or hurt others to get ahead. If that describes you, I feel really sorry for you.
Now, who are my "favorite" actresses? I have no idea, as I couldn't tell you the name of anyone in Hollywood by face. Well, there's John Wayne, Farrah, and Anna Nicole, but they are both dead. They did a lot of marketing of their "brand" over the years -- but past that, there's no face I can associate with a name. I simply don't buy into the Hollywood thing.
Are there any women in "entertainment" that I like? I couldn't say. Are there and women in Hollywood who are not size2? Where are the women who have meat on their bones, boobs -- REAL boobs, not artificial sacks of water implanted for "appearances" -- you know, women who are a C, D, or DD/E cup? Find me one of those women and she may end up being a favorite actress.
Other than that, I do not watch TV and because the quality of most shows these days equates to "pure crap," I can't even tell you the names of most shows I see -- no, I don't "watch" many.
I own several Web sites, including my personal site, which is where I host my blog in one section. My blog, Scoop's Views, is my take on whatever crosses my mind, including news, military, government, society, technology, reviews of hardware, software, and anything else. I also maintain and publish the The Sleep Blog, which is focused on sleep-related issues, including sleep hygiene, sleep disorders, and other topical subjects.
