The Northern Sector Action on Awareness Centre (NORSAAC) is a gender based advocacy organisation working to promote the equality of women in Ghana. The organisation, which now has recongnition from regional and national levels for its efforts at promoting women participation in governance and promoting reproductive health activities using various advocacy strategies and participatory methods, started as a community based organisation mobilizing community youth to discuss and find possibly ways of addressing HIV/AIDs and young people sexuality issues in schools and communities in early parts of 2002.
VISION
To have a society in which every human being enjoys equal rights, including their sexual rights.
MISSION
To work with communities and community structures to build the capacity of the marginalized in order to empower them to access their needs on a sustainable basis.
OBJECTIVES
To create general awareness about HIV/ AIDS and other diseases that will threaten the development of Ghana.
To facilitate the empowerment of existing and new institutions at community, district, regional and national levels that will promote good governance and proper representation of women, by women and for women.
To work with the poor, powerless and generally marginalised and/or excluded to have their voices heard and their rights recognized.
To encourage and facilitate dialogue between young people, children, parents and policy makers
