I first became interested in photography after a middle school field trip to Washington, DC. I looked at the monuments I saw on TV a thousand times before and found unique was to capture them. My teachers love the photos I took on a cheap disposable camera. With their positive feedback I was hooked and continued to use whatever camera I could get my hands on until I bought my first real camera in college.

After college, I spent some time working at a wedding studio while photographing musicians and bands in my free time. Being in the studio allowed me to develop technical skills and collaborating with musician enabled me to explore my artistic creativity. While seemingly different at first, photographing weddings and bands taught me how to create pictures under sometimes stressful and unexpected conditions. They both also focus on people and relationships as the most important element of the picture.

When I'm not photography people, I spend time with my dog and playing my guitar and ukulele.
