This stream is in flux. Then again, so am I.

It began as a journal of building my homemade RV—a converted 12′ × 6′ cargo trailer—and heading out to travel full time. Seven years and more than 60,000 miles later, it held a collection of campsites, beautiful places, and experiences I’m glad I didn’t miss.

Along the way, the travel snapshots made room for more artistic photography, and I returned to drawing and other handmade art. These days I’m back in sticks and bricks, but the creative wandering continues.

The latest turn? AI art. Helmet? Check! Armor? Check! Shield? Check! :)

I still take photographs, paint, and draw—mostly draw. I also explore what happens when those familiar tools meet new ones. Blending AI with my own older photographs and drawings has been particularly fun. You’ll find all of those efforts here. I’m divergent in considerably more than one way. My art follows suit.

My local AI setup runs Stable Diffusion, with ChatGPT helping me untangle its workings and occasionally contributing images. If you think that means pushing a button and collecting masterpieces, you’re welcome to come wrestle with my settings for an afternoon. This tool has depths I may spend years exploring. Some results are good-ish. They were certainly hard enough to make that they OUGHT to be good… right?

I’ve been on Flickr for decades, across more than one stream. A larger chapter disappeared in 2018 when life hit me and I ducked. This one carried on, quietly for a while. Now I’m posting, visiting, commenting, and enjoying the company again.

I also founded Total Photography. Finding “No AI Allowed” in a group I started was an unexpected bit of irony. Groups choose their own boundaries, of course, but it helped inspire me to start another:

Electric Paintbrush.

It’s a home for art made or transformed with an electric paintbrush: AI, CGI, Photoshop, Second Life imagery, and creatively edited photographs, whether they began digitally or on film. Fully generated worlds or a photograph given a little extra color and light—there’s room for both.

Yes, I’ve responded to a boundary by drawing one of my own. The irony hasn’t escaped me. :) This one makes a gathering place for electronic creativity, and I hope you’ll help fill it with work worth seeing.
