Statement Accessories // Feather jewelry

My plan was to get my master degree from Université de Montréal and to teach french literature. I finally got my degree this year after several years to move from writing to making new jewelry collections. Now that I should teach, like I planned, I can't : Noémiah was born and I did not intend to put aside my little handmade line. When I started Noémiah, I discovered myself a real passion for the fascinating handmade world.

My dream would be to offer a complete line of accessories and clothing and that is why I started, last August, a diploma in professional tailor and alterations. Before August 2011, I had never sewn in my life. No hand-stitching dresses for my dolls when I was little, no grandmother to send me her passion, no godmother to give me her sewing machine. My background is unusual and surprising. I'm surprised myself to put as much energy every day but after only a few months, I have my own studio and I work very hard to achieve my dream.

Regarding the jewelry & accessories creative side, it is very important to me that the end result of each collection reflects the whole process of creation (the images I have crossed, people who have inspired me). What i really like is to work with artists I met. They often see what I have not seen in the collection and what they create enriches, visually, my work. Together we create a little bit of beauty and this is, for me, what handmade should be. Well made, innovative and inspiring.
