Born in Scotland, I grew up partly in Canada. I studied at the universities of Aberdeen and Edinburgh and then became a Sociology professor at the University of Guelph (1972-80) and Memorial University (1980-2011). Currently retired and living in St. John's, NL. I enjoy photography, travel and cooking - plus hiking when my knee will take it.
I became interested in photography about 1980 as my painting was taking a more realistic turn. From 1981 to 1992 I took many slides and was a keen black and white darkroom processor. I took relatively few photos in the 1990s until I purchased my first digital camera about 2000. Today I use NikonZ6 and Z7II, Lumix LX100, and iPhone.
I process with Capture One + DxO and Affinity Photo as needed.
I hope you enjoy some of my photos. I appreciate everyone who views, comments or marks a photo as a favourite.
