At "Leithy" it was clear to my Teachers that I was 'good at Art'. I laugh at one of my 'Report Cards' as one of my teachers' comment said that I "Was a good drawer".

I'm sure I'm not 'related' to furniture and am simply 'good at drawing'!

The various qualifications in it, over several years help to testify this. None seem to apply to any form of woodwork!

In two schools: Leith Academy and George Heriot's in addition to about seven Colleges of Further Education

(full-time or by day release). I'm qualified to "Degree Level" at least three times

- that'll explain why I've been unemployed since a different century, I imagine?

§

Consider that when I've worked in "Domestic Electrical outlets" most of the time - wanting honesty from the Sales Assistant.

When I worked in Currys, I was [in the whole of Europe] their highest salesman. This is STILL the case friends have told me.

§

One reason for this was identified when I was fifty-three: (Is 53 a "Late diagnosis"?)

I was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome. "Aspies" tend to be 'arty'

§

But for almost all my life, I didn't know it is clinically impossible for me to tell a lie.

I thought the different Customers prefered to talk to me because I was polite, or that I listened.

Many (in various stores) would follow me. Some Customers went to the different places I worked simply to listen-in!

§

Customers 'voted with their feet' when - the last place - Currys - got rid of me for TELLING THE TRUTH to James Christie

(he thinks he's a photographer..).

But the Customers, when they found out I was no longer there, didn't go to the Flagship in Edinburgh and it closed-down in under a week!

§

Being VERY easy to 'get off the subject' when talking to people, then photography was a natural - em - development:

In comparison to drawing. Twice-over: I'm a qualified Graphic Designer but I have more in Photography, though

and it is an awful lot QUICKER!

Although I can take extremely-long exposures without a tripod. I couldn't even guess when I last used one, tbh!

Please Note:

NOT ONE of my photographs is edited.

As you can tell by the 'title' photo above, which is a corner of our lounge - I enjoy photography rather a lot.

The shot on the left* and the blue one (with the shell and Brodie) are 5x3 FEET - currently, I have four others this size in our home. To make the shot that size is 600 million MILLION times magnification, in case you wondered.

No, I've never decorated..

Everywhere I go, I have some kind of a camera - though I've never used a mobile phone 'as' a camera. It is a telephone which I do use for written messages

but the size of the sensor on a mobile is TINY. And any 'zoom' would be digital! I couldn't begin to imagine what any printed image might look like from a mobile.

I crop and level things up: But that's a 'correction' NOT an edit. It is something I don't do: Get it right - or do it again!

*Google, "Wet Cramond" for the one on the top-left (below).

Nik Watt is a photographer. Actually, make that Photographer. He is a prolific and accomplished producer of very fine photos of an amazing variety of subjects. Nik also has an ability to see what others will miss and compose an interesting shot out of quite unlikely situations/subjects. His take on architectural photography is particularly inspiring to me. While Nik is very knowledgable on all aspects of photography (and I mean very) he is not afraid to bend the 'rules' and come up with the most effective compositions. His droll humour is apparent in the many shots he has taken of unusual and/or silly signs/situations etc. Och! Just dive into his stream and sets and you will see what I mean! Great work Nik and thanks for all the advice I have received over the months gone by and to come... H
