Jim is a passionate photographer who is as much at home with the technical as he is with the art of good photography. Those of you who know Jim will recognize his love for detail and his search for great wildlife images. Jim is versatile and loves to explore other photographic interests with beautiful portraits, macros and scenic images as well. Jim regularly goes on photo excursions with Garreyf and I and we benefit from his warm humor as much as we do from his suggestions for shots and comments and commentary on other people's work. We also belong to the same camera club where Jim has won multiple awards for his work. I greatly value Jim's work and his opinion on my work and count him as one of my good friends.

Jim and I first met at a photography club and its been love ever since. :) I think I introduced Jim to flickr at the time. We have since become great friends and often go out shooting together with our other buddy Tim. What I like most about Jim's photography is his scientific approach. I also like his competitiveness as I have a similar quality which helps both of us to improve. There was a time when I had way more explore photos than Jim and he would inform me when another one of my photos went to explore..well before I even knew it myself. Now...his explores have far surpassed mine...Yes..I have to admit that. If you look at Jims stream you will see that he is an expert at Birds. Jim has an extreme passion for birds. I think if I never met Jim you would not see a single bird in my stream. So, Jim. I beat you to the testimonial writing.
