Let me take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Nikk, I live in Peterborough in the UK.

I took up photography, as a serious hobby, a few years ago. This is when I bought my first DSLR, and very, very quickly fell in love with photography in the digital world, especially macro. I love documenting the natural world around me, and have a preference for arthropods. The ease of, and personal control over, post processing have, in my opinion, opened up a new dimension in photographic and artistic expression. The power to composite shots, and experiment with various effects, has made expressing our vision easier than it has ever been. And what better time could there be, than the present? A time where we can have our images reach millions, via social sites like Flickr, with the click of a button.

Along my journey, I have discovered a passion for documenting the wide variety of tiny wildlife that lives around me. I am staggered by the diversity that can be found without anything more than patience, curiosity, and a very small effort to look a little closer. Once I started, it very quickly became an obsession.
