Of my flickr contacts whose work I admire, there are very few for whom I can say almost every one of their photos is great. Helmut is rare in that he seems never to take a bad photo. Or even an average photo, for that matter. His shots are so good I have to hold myself back from commenting every single one that pops up on my flickr homepage. His style is - broadly speaking - minimal, clean and uncluttered, bursting with colour, and his shots are beautifully composed. His photos of the Munich underground are a must see for any flickr visitor looking for inspiration.

I have just reviewed Night Photographer's entire stream. I am amazed and inspired by the growth and volume of his work. It was very interesting to look at the entire collection as a whole and view the different phases and experiments as this artist discovered more about his own creativity and photographic talent. Night Photographer is my favorite artist on Flickr and inspires much of my own photography, as I grow and learn more about myself.

I don't believe it's possible to browse NightPhotographer's gallery and not feel you have something really important to learn from his work. Correction: I don't believe you won't be immediately influenced, even if you don't notice. We're facing a rediscovery of the urban environment here. A valuable one, in the sense that it gives urbanity a whole new and freshly positive meaning. Time and time again he is able to delight us with glimpses of his visual landscape. With his stylish, chic, sometimes surprising and often very minimalist images, all rendered with great technical skill, NP (as I like to call him) is the master at work! Yet he excels in many styles and could not be accused of failing to experiment. Indeed, many of his crops are breathtakingly bold. Night Photographer has a vision of the world which combines a playful spirit with a serious talent for finding scenes with photographic potential. With his ability to observe the photographic possibilities in the mundane details of everyday life, he delights the viewer with his artful renditions and I am one of many who is so grateful for his work.
