Flickr is not only a place where one can improve his photography skills but also a way to discover the world. Nigel has done a great job in revealing to us the beauty of the English gardens paying attention to overall composition , contrast of colors and architectural details. Actually he is the top contributor to the Designing Gardens group and he kindly provided a lot of information about each garden he visited! I look forward to seeing more of his photos, as I know that I will always find a wonderful view of nature!Keep up the good work!

I've been looking at Nigel's garden photos for about a year now. As primarily a "plants-make-the-garden" kind of gardener with a naturalist bent, I am constantly made aware of the value of hardscape, ornament and geometry in the garden when I look at Nigel's photos. Contrasts, layering, texture and shape are the aspects of gardening to which I pay the most attention, and I find Nigel has a very good eye for showing these off in pictures. Many gardens have been added to my must-see list as a result of studying his body of work here on flickr. Thanks for all the leads you've given me for gardens to see in England this coming summer, Nigel. Mark Delepine aka Serialplantfetishist Berkeley, California
