Pretty average, family, retired. Photography is my way of staying sane. I started taking photos at around 7 or 8 years of age. My dad worked in Fleet Street and although he was not a professional photographer, he mixed with the darkroom staff and enjoyed photography himself. He always made a Kodak fold out bellows camera and a roll of B&W 120 film available to me on each family holiday and that's where the interest started.

I have used so many cameras over the years, from a Russian range finder (Zorki) in the early 70s through Pentax SLRs for most of my (slide) film days to the Nikon DSLRs and the mirrorless I use today. I enjoy photography because it is the one interest you can combine with just about anything else.
