Update 05/08/2021:
Well after using my iPhone for photography almost exclusively the last few years (see original 'about me' text below) I’ve finally got together a decent 3 lens kit of good quality wide, standard and tele zooms. It's been a long time coming but by buying carefully and after a bit of ebay decluttering to cover the cost I'll finally be able to start capturing some images of a higher quality - technically at least - than I've been able to for a long time. To satisfy my shutterbug urges I did something I've never done before and took my new toys on a dedicated photo-walk in London. I've always taken my photos when out doing other things and have carted all my gear - or my iphone - with me just in case. I've never gone out just for photography before. It was a refreshing change and I loved it! So apologies in advance for all the photos of different bits of London that are about to swamp my photostream. I hope you like them ;-)

Original 'About me' scribblings from around the start of 2021:
Photography has always been a hobby and passion for me. However due to a change of circumstances in 2016 I had to sell all my gear to fund a new life with the woman of my dreams - who is now my wife! It was the best thing I've ever done :-)
So now I'm exploring what can be done with an iPhone. I miss my DSLRs and lenses but I'm finding it makes me much more spontaneous as I always have my phone with me and it's always ready in my pocket. No more lugging a heavy camera bag around with a full frame camera and couple of f/2.8 zooms and maybe an 85mm f/1.2. I've always worked out but even so my back is so much better. And I love the easy and much bolder editing functions that are offered by the various photo editing apps out there. DSLR editing on a PC would always be subtle. I hated software trickery! But for iPhone editing I sometimes end up with something almost unrecognizable to the original shot - and in no more than a minute or two after shooting. I'm learning photography need not be about faithful reproduction of what's in front of you but is about the final image. And no reason not to make it fun by changing things up completely if it creates something new and hopefully interesting. Abstracts have never been so easy! I've also been rediscovering black and white photography and the focus it brings on composition and texture without the distraction of colours. It can sometimes render an image much more boldly than a colour version. So please excuse that some of my old pictures in my photostream have re-surfaced in monochrome...
In September 2019 I bought a drone - a DJI Mavic Pro Platinum. It was discontinued when I got it - superseded by the Mavic 2 Pro so I got a good deal but it gives great results and has opened up new avenues and perspectives and has got me interested in video now too. One day when finances allow maybe I'll get some new lenses and a good DSLR but for now I'm enjoying making the most of what I have. I only wish I had more free time and no COVID restrictions so I could get out more!
Oh yes - and Django is one of my middle names. All my dads fault. He's a jazz fanatic and my middle names are after famous jazz musicians. Django is after Django Reinhardt - the famous jazz guitarist of the 1930s and 1940s. Just in case you were wondering...

Your gallery is most admirable reflecting so many captures I wouldn't have even seen. A very clever combination of street and architecture. Thank you for opening my eyes.
