First the name of Morecambe Bay is an ancient one, derived from the Celtic Mwr Cwm, which translates as ‘Great Bay’
Hence the name mwr-cwm.
Presently residing in the Morecambe Bay area of the UK. Now, unfortunately single and in poor health.
I have spent most of my working life in the Hotel Profession in management. Restaurants & Hotels etc. In different parts of the UK and the Channel Isles.
Much later I had a small successful non related small transport business.
My main interests are. Traditional Good Food,(none of this tasteless rubbish that`s sold as food in supermarkets in the UK), Travel. (Spending over two and a half years in total in Thailand), Greece, Reading, Computers, Military History.
I am a long time omnibologist and an enthusiast of all other forms of public transport.
Since I believe I was knee high to a grasshopper. So my mother claimed !
I have also been accused as a long time "collector of useless information”!
I do enjoy photography. But I am afraid it `s not my main interest, as I am not always able to get out and about as much as I would like these days.
I always enjoy looking at the many wonderful photos here on Flickr. It gives me something to aim for.
Yes,and pigs may fly, but they're very unlikely birds.
As you can tell by my photos.. I use a camera to record events, places, people etc..
And as long as the photographs are reasonably OK. Then so am I. ;-)

Even though Gordon’s photo-stream first came to my attention due to our mutual long-term interest in the bus and transport scene, it soon became clear from his pictures of other subjects that he has a keen eye for a good shot and I am always pleased to see his latest uploads. As well as an interest in his local area, his forays into the Far East always provide both him and us with bright and eye-catching images. His camera always seems to find the prettiest girls when he’s on vacation (even those with something “extra“)! Not forgetting, of course, that he appears to know more about independent bus operators than anyone else in the world!

niagarekoja has a wonderful selection of bus and coach photos of all types from over the years and from many different operators all over the country, many of which are from the good old days when Britain really was great. He also runs many groups for well known old bus and coach companies such as Yelloway, Pennine Motor Services, J Fishwick & Sons and many more. These are invaluable to people like myself who remember these buses so well as a child but never was able to take photos and these bring back many wonderful memories of day trips in my childhood and the dialogue that goes with these photos and each set is very informative and helpful. niagarekoja also has transport photos and sets from other parts of the world, that have been taken whilst on his travels. I thoroughly recommend anybody with an interest in public road transport to take a look through niagarekoja's photostream and groups and see that he has one of the best, if not the very best selection of buses and coaches on flickr.
