I'm greatly impressed by the range and diversity of photographic imagery to be found on flickr. Being a rank amateur myself, I've joined to look at and learn from the work of others with more advanced "vision."
I live in a very rural corner of northern New England, where I pursue a profession as a translator and writer. Other interests include gardening, weightlifting, reading, music and (weather and knees permitting) hiking and the outdoors.

Jim's da bomb! Cute, too.
Jim's words, which he self-describes as "poor implements," are always deeply considered and quite often very enlightening. With his vast knowledge of language, Jim takes that gift and applies it towards his photography. Truly, the meaning of "a picture is worth a thousand words" can be applied to Jim's photostream.
Jim constantly captivates and inspires me with his photographic talent. Jim constantly captivates and inspires me with his photographic talent. His excellence and mastery at capturing beautiful and dynamic nature shots is unparralleled. and to think he does this all with a point and shoot camera! While he is the one that is blessed with living in beautiful country lands, we are the ones that are blessed by having Jim bring us to those lands through his photography. I can think of very few people that have inspired me to look a nearly white snowy field and find its inherent complex beauty like Jim has. Also, not only does his photography speak well for him, but Jim also is one of the few people that makes sure you konw he is looking through ALL of your pictures. Thank you buddy! :)

Jim is a rare man from a bygone age. A renaissance man who speaks multiple languages, is well read, is a true gentleman, and always makes you feel like you're the only person on Flickr who's photographic journey he follows. Jim's photographic canvas is his backyard and fortunately for all of us, Jim lives in a beautiful area that he knows intimately and is kind enough to share it with us in all it's seasonal glory. Jim's photography harkens back to a simpler time when small town life, community gatherings and baking a loaf of bread for a neighbor was all part of the daily routine. I am humbled by Jim's friendship and feel privileged to have a glimpse into his life and home though his beautiful photography.

My day on Flickr just would not be complete without a visit from Jim. What a sweet man!! Thanks Jim for planting little seeds of encouragement and kindness in my Flickr beds!
Jim is truly a man I'm really proud to call myself a friend. Amazing, warm, talented... My english is too limited to make justice to his persona.
