A co-worker and his wife have asked me to come and photograph their newborn little girl. I accepted the challenge because it is something new for me and I know I can learn from the experience. The FIRST thing I am doing to prepare for this is to go back and look at all of Neta's infant portraits. To me, this will be as valuable as any book I could purchase on the subject. I appreciate Neta's willingness to share from her experiences and give me advice.

Neta is a friend who intersected my life from left field. Some time ago she wrote a sweet letter asking for technical advice. That, of course, makes me laugh because I write to other people in the same vein. But I was happy to answer her questions. However, as I explored her photo stream it became apparent that she was already quite knowledgeable and doing things with people that I would never have dared. She likes people and they like her back. Period. I can see her making a few bucks, maybe many bucks shooting young and old--with her camera. LOL. One of the things that rapidly became apparent was her willingness to shoot and master new techniques, applying herself with the passion of the reformed. Thus, she continues surprising me constantly with her growing technical and artistic skills, always tempered with a generosity of spirit and warm friendship. Now I laugh when she does something new that leaves me baffled and asking her for technical advice because in this venue the dynamics of learning and doing are the give and take that make sharing our common interest such a pleasure. :-)
