Hello!

My friends and family call me Nesho - so can you here. Photography is a hobby for me. I am married, with children. The dude next to me in my profile photo is Ziggy. Many photos I take come from our daily walks. While he's sniffing, I am snapping.

I enjoy taking photos and each one is pleasing to me in a different way. Street, deadpan, architecture, indoor scenes with nice light and shade are interesting... The photos you will see here are eclectic maybe.. you will find a little bit of everything ... Many photos here will not be technically perfect and rules of photography (is there such a thing?) will be regularly broken. I try to capture what catches my eye / attention... Sometimes it works and others like it as well... I enjoy seeing other photographers' photos, so keep shootin'.

On Flickr actually since 2005. I have another account I used once made that year. This one is since 2008. I attended the Emerging Tech conference in San Diego in 2005, it was there where they announced Yahoo buying Flickr. I know - I am old!! :-)

Flickr is a great idea, but somewhat poorly managed ... Hope that improves. I know the team is working hard to improve the user experience and have us even more connected and enjoying the platform.

Main tool is my Ricoh GR IIIx (while it has many downsides and it costs waaaay too much, it is the most fun camera I've had - ever), I also use my Pixel 8 (I use the Lightroom Camera app on it as I find it removes most of Google's artificial processing and gives me more control over the look of the photos that come out of it) the phone is always with me, so helps capture moments I would have otherwise missed. While GR is small and pocketable, I don't have it with me ALL the times. And I do take photos ALL the time. :-)

I also have Canon Powershot A20 (LCD is broken, so rarely use it), a Praktica MTL3 (as a film camera, almost never these days, not because it would be inferior, but purely out of convenience and cost).

In the past I used: Fuji X-A5, Nikon D7000, Nikon D40, Sony P&S W1 and a number of smartphones..

Finally, I maintain a gallery: "Nesho's Exquisite Taste" :-), every few days I go through the photos I have faved and select those I consider special in some way... don't know my criteria other than - "this one looks like it belongs in the gallery.."
