I began my love affair with photography at age 16, when I was handed a twin lens reflex camera to use in my first photography class. I loved the darkroom and spent long hours there. An avid biology student, I decided to pursue a career in medical photography and worked in Boston hospitals for many years. It was great work, especially when I worked at Children's Hospital. I was given carte blanche to design my own darkroom and graphic arts studio; thrilling! For a few years I supported an entire research department there, and had a great boss who gave me a lot of freedom and respect.
No longer in the medical photography world, I now freelance, creating graphics and photography for non-profit groups and newspapers, as well as performance photography of musicians and actors.
My subjects tend to be diverse, and I shoot a lot for my own pleasure. It's been a real joy to share and learn from the mulititude of talented and friendly people here at Flickr.
I graduated from the Graphics and Web Design program at the Boston University Center for Digital Imaging in September 2008, and I am looking forward to flexing my design muscles in new and exciting ways. I am fortunate because I can use my over two decades of photography experience along with my design. I shall strive to be "a complete package"!
