A true artist cannot be defined by simple categorization of genre, style or inspiration. Natty K is a product of the pop culture that inundated her life growing up in the San Fernando Valley. Her artwork is whimsical, ironic, inspired, entirely unique, and deeply personal. Rock n roll of all generations is felt and seen in many (if not all) of her creations. She has an irreverant perspective that, once given some thought, doesn't feel alien at all. Blunt, cynical, even funny expressions give the viewer a look inside the world of a very beautiful and tragic girl... But that is no shock considering her recent involvement in the extremely turbulent world of Charlie Sheen, being his live in girlfriend during a period of constant media attention. As a need to create and express on her terms, Natty turns to her art and thus finds the balance of peace and chaos, of pleasure and pain with a punk rock touch that makes her art pure, and lastly, tells the truth in a way only she can. Natty Kenly began pursuing her creative side as an adult, painting a series of cartoonish figures which she calls her "monsters.". Initially she painted on scrap wood, old skateboard decks, and anything she could find around the neighborhood. Her work would technically be classified as mixed media, mostly featuring acrylic paint, scrap wood, buttons, ribbon, and anything else in her path. She exhibits a distinct style, using bright colors and generally tends to include lyrics, combining her love of both art and music.
