**UPDATE as of 7/5/13**
In July of 2013, I made the switch to SmugMug for my primary photo sharing site.
I will remain a member here, so I can continue to see and comment on my contacts' photos, and will continue to post a few items here. I do hope you'll stop by and visit me on SmugMug every now and then.

Avid hiker, vegan, and computer nerd, living in North Carolina, USA.
As for my camera, I'm purely a point-and-shoot gal (Panasonic DMC-TZ5). I could see myself getting very interested in learning to do "real" photography with an SLR type of camera, but when given the option of hiking an hour further down a mountain trail, or spending an hour getting that perfect shot ... I'll always go for the hike!!
Plus ... I love having a camera small enough and light weight enough to fit into my pants pocket while I'm on the trail!!
When I'm not out traipsing over hill and dale in the woods, I'm in my kitchen cooking up a storm. Cooking and hiking --- two of the best stress relievers I know!
Still not having learned to use PhotoShop, all my photos are SOOC (Straight Out Of the Camera). Only modifications might be cropping or resizing.
About comments on my photos: I love comments on my photos as much as the next person, but I prefer "real" comments, as opposed to the automated "copy and paste" canned comments that one often sees.
"Real" comments are defined as someone writing something that indicates they have actually looked at the photo shown, and have something to say relating to that photo. You will find that I will then visit your photostream, and often comment on something of interest there.
These "canned" comments interfere with the flow of conversation between "real" commentators; hence I will delete "canned" comments on my photos that contain nothing more than the associated group's copy and paste text/graphics.
I'm finding the frequency of folks marking my photos as FAVORITES or adding them to galleries, but having nothing available to me to view in their photostream increasing. Remember what Flickr is all about: SHARING PHOTOS.
It is with great disappointment that I am going to begin blocking any users who FAV one of my photos or add them to a gallery but have nothing available to view on their photostream.
