A lifetime ago, I had a Pentax MX SLR. At some point, life priority changed, and my Pentax ended up in a closet. Later on, I bought a cheap point and shoot digital camera mainly to take family pictures. I went through a few upgrades as technology changed overtime.

I bought first DSLR, a Nikon D60, in 2008. I wanted a good camera for the upcoming grand family vacation. The D60 just happened to be on sale at the time. For next few years, I went through the discovery phase that reignited my interest in the hobby and eventually moved up to shooting raw.

I now have a Nikon D750, a Sony A6000 and a Sony Rx100 III. I have been and still enjoying photographing while I travel. It’s too bad that I don’t get to travel as much as I’d like. To me traveling and photography become intertwined. Going places with a camera makes me become more observant and curious about such things as locality, culture and way of life. I naturally pay attention to what I see and become more engaging with the surrounding.

It follows that my work posted on Flickr during the most recent few years tend to be or can be categorized as traveling photography. I didn’t start out thinking that I wanted to be a travel photographer. I just gravitated toward it for now. My interest might evolve into something different in the future. For now, as part of sharing my photos, I include geotag information with most of my posts. I do this because when I see interesting photos on Flickr, I am always curious about where they were taken.

Thanks for you visit. I hope you enjoy my work.
