One comment about contacts: I appreciate it tremendously when people want me as a contact, however, if you have no material that is available for me to see, if you have no other contacts (or numbers in the thousands), and if you have no image on your buddy icon, the red flags tend to go up for me--unfortunately, I may decide to block you under those conditions. Hopefully you will understand my concern.

A KIND REMINDER:

Just a bit about myself. First of all, I am a rare breed--a native Floridian (for those of you not familiar with Florida, nearly everyone who lives here moved from somewhere else). Also an avid fan of the beauties of this earth--sometimes fitting in the time to enjoy them is a problem due to higher priorities, but whenever possible, you'll find me out there looking for that perfect shot. I have had the opportunity to travel to some spectacular places on this earth and been able to bring home visual images that can take me back to the sights, smells, and emotions every time I view them--so the trip never ends. Hope you'll enjoy the journey too.

My wife Deborah, while not a photographer--yet (but there's still hope), is my biggest fan, promoter, and cheerleader. Walk On The Wild Side is definitely a team effort--I take the shots and post them, she does most of the managing--such as answering of invitations to groups, keeping track of awards and leaving comments in response to your generous words about my images.(Be assured that I read and appreciate each and every comment and like to click on your profiles to learn more about you), I just don't have the time to answer them all personally.

An update: as of January, 2009, we have made photography a unanimous hobby in our home. Deborah has finally taken the plunge, snapped the first photographs of her life, and posted them on her own photostream which can be viewed here: www.flickr.com/photos/25816695@N05/ .

Some of my work goes back many years to my Nikon F5 days, these images were scanned from transparencies. More recently, I acquired a Nikon D2X and got many opportunities to use it on a couple of long family vacations

--in 2006, 5 and a half weeks in Alaska, and in 2007--a 7 and a half week, 12,000 mile road-trip across 18 states and 2 provinces of Canada. We "did" the West and visited about 16 National Parks and National Monuments in the Western parts of the US and several Canadian NPs

. We feel incredibly fortunate to have experienced the beauty of these special places and hope that the images on this photostream will give you pleasure and inspire you to get out there and enjoy nature.
