NASUWT is the largest teachers' union in the United Kingdom with over 290,000 members.

The Union is a lay-led Union, run by serving teachers with the aim of protecting the rights and interests of teachers in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

NASUWT's flagship campaign is currently Standing Up For Standards. The Union is concerned that the Coalition Government's current education policy is leading to the dismantling of state education with an unprecedented programme of cuts. Teachers' pensions, pay and pay progression, job security and heavy workload are all issues that the NASUWT is keen to protect.
