I am 41 years old and live in Colombo, Sri Lanka. I had my secondary education in Colombo, and later worked for the ‘Mahaweli’ river irrigation and multipurpose project in Welikande, which was the principal township of the area designated as System ‘B’ and located 19 miles far away from the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, in the northcentral province of the country.
Though I belong to Sri Lanka's main (or larger) ethnic group, Sinhala and Buddhist beliefs+practises, I am Independent. This is because, I am a firm believer in democracies and rights of man. I want to see this world in a more better way.... and spend my whole life quietly and determinedly. Equality and freedom together create the prerequisites for justice. Without equality, freedom can become the justice of the stronger. If there is inequality it must be tackled on a political level; not by war, violence and terrorism. Some people ask how we stop terrorism without war. We should do all possible, without going to war; world leaders and international organisations should have reached or would have had to take consciousness of the root causes which lead people to resort to acts of terror and then seek solutions to this insidious threat to human life, democracy and economic development.
I am genuinely interested in world politics since my schooldays.
It would however be remiss of me not to mention my favourite quote is the following;
"It doesn't matter if a cat is black or white, so long as it catches mice" – Deng Xiaoping (1904-1997), prominent Chinese politician and reformist, and the late leader of the Communist Party of China and the de facto leader of the People's Republic of China from 1978 to 1992.
My favourite tag is ‘goal’.
