I discovered him one day through a wonderful image of a suicidal toy soldier. ;) He made me smile - and instantly I saw a friend in him... and he is my most special connection here today. Hard to explain, but why try? Rodrigo's images seem to come from a very modest place. But they surpass modesty in their artistic significance. He is like the quiet kid in class (in school) with the punk hair and crazy tattoos who nobody expects to see such warmth, such vision, such honesty, such goodness from. The killer dolls show his twisted dark side; the flowers show his tender, sweet side, the cut-outs show his unique attention to the little things we don't look at, and the self-portraits are raw and modest - truly like himself. Truly a special spirit, hopefully a friend for a long time :)
