I started photography in April 2007 and spent the first 6 months - 18 hours a day - shooting in various parts of Malaysia and reading hundreds of magazines, the internet & especially flickr.

In November 2007, I went on my first "travel photography" trip to Cambodia where I spent 2 months traveling through towns, villages and abandoned monuments - experiencing travel photography - and learning about this country's unique history, culture and people.

Needless to say I fell in love with this country and since January 2008, I have made a home here, in Phnom Penh. Now I travel to different provinces regularly either on my own little expeditions or to document an NGO project.

This is what I use while traveling:

- Canon 400D (Digital Rebel XTi) DSLR camera

- Tamron 18-250mm (F/3.5-6.3) telephoto lens

- Tamron 11-18mm (F/4.5-5.6) wide-angle lens

- Manfrotto 190 XPROB tripod

- BG E3 battery grip

- RC-1 wireless remote

- Hoya polarizers for both lens

- various 2GB and 4GB UltraFast compact flash cards (16)

- Lowpro Slingshot AW200 bag

- Acer Aspire 4520 laptop for media storage and burning to DVDs

- Maglite torchlight, Swiss army knife, compass, cleaning kit, face towel, cap, powerbars, scotchtape, plaster, blank DVDs, card readers, spare usb cable, many different chargers, extra camera batteries and recharagbles AA batteries,

I like landscape photography especially sunrises and sunsets, but after Cambodia, I have begun to appreciate street/urban, outdoor, candids, and especially people photography. I have dabbled with some portraits, fashion and product photography but as I lack the lighting and studio equipment, I have to differ learning this to later.

If you are an aspiring model (in Malaysia or Cambodia) and would like to pose outdoors for me, send me an email.

If you are a better photographer than me (who isn't?), please feel free to critique my pictures.

If you are a fellow travel photographer and would like a travel companion, I am doing north-east cambodia - up to China/Laos border (April to June) and following the Mekong down to the Mekong Delta in Vietnam (after the rainy season), drop me a line.

I am an active member of Couch Surfing.
