I've been taking pictures most of my life, using all sorts of equipment.

I recently picked up a Canon Rebel XSi from Cosco. They have a kit with both 18-55mm and 55-250mm lenses for a fairly good price. Most of the kits I've seen have one or the other. I'm amazed at how nice it is to have complete control over exposure now. Back in the film days I'd always have to wonder if I got it right on my AE-1. Now I just have to look at the screen and know for sure (not to mention the 600 or so pictures I can take on a card).
