Artist Statement
Myra Veres was born and raised in Ternopil, Ukraine. At the age of 11 her parents made the life changing decision to move to the United States, and her world was never the same again.
As a child, Myra was fairly shy and liked to stay to herself. She would rather watch groups of kids from afar than be a part of them. That changed a little each year as she grew more into herself.
It wasn't until a friend downloaded Photoshop CS3 on her laptop that she picked up a camera with the intentions of creating photos. From that moment on, Myra and her Nikon were never separated.
Since starting, Myra has never taken any classes. All her knowledge comes from books, videos and conversations with other photographers.
