Practically all my flickr photos up to July 2008 were taken with my Konika Minolta Dimage Z5. One or two early ones were taken with my Olympus SWP-500UZ - which I dropped and wrecked. The Minolta was sold to me in a classic sting by a redundant stock salesperson in Tottenham Court Rd (London). Since then I have mainly been using the Nikon D40 which the same person sold me when I rashly went back to the same shop for my first DSLR. He was right, even the D40 is an extravagance given that I still mainly point and shoot on automatic! I should say that for some time now I have stopped using auto and normally set aperture and shutter speed. Also mainly self focus, though if I'm in a hurry or it's quite practical I use auto focus (update September 2009)

Update 2014. I didn't go back to the shop for my upgrade because I was convinced that they would dissuade me from buying a Nikon D7K which I convinced myself I wanted. I bought it in John Lewis......

I use Microsoft Photo Editor for cropping and sharpening and Paint Shop Pro 7 for removing nasty spots etc.

Update 2014. I still use MPE for viewing and I use Photoshop Elements for editing.

I've taken photos since I was twelve with some gaps. I have thousands of packets full of photos and I do sometimes wonder what is going to become of them!

Update 2014. I still don't know! Well, landfill most likely?!

Digital is totally transformative!

Update 2014. Still is, but wonder if I might like return to film and a conventional darkroom one day. There is something wonderful about a submerged image emerging there in front of you

I really dislike photos with signatures on them and I've stopped commenting on any photo disfigured by a signature or watermark. (June 2011)

Update 2014. I've softened on this, I do sometimes comment on photos with signatures. Sometimes I mention it. It diminishes the image.
