Who Is My Blue Muse aka PJ Taylor?
A self-described 'snapaholic,' "I shoot because I must" is how I like to rephrase a famous writing mantra. I have omnivore tastes ranging from macros to candid portraits to urban rust & crust to dogs, lots of dogs, mine especially; to streetshots to bw studies and abstracts.
In the recent past, I've volunteered my photographic services for two great agencies in San Francisco: Rocket Dog Rescue and Telegraph Hill Neighborhood Center.
Also, professionally I've begun to shoot professionally. My clients have included a wedding, holiday card family photographs, children, newborns, pets and I'm excited to venture into snapping pics of high school seniors.
I have a temporary website up but I'm working with a graphic designer developing my logo/brand and am busy putting together my rates and policies. My new site is going to be amazing. In the meantime, I have temporary business cards printed and see below to get a taste of things to come.
My website, www.pjtaylorphotography.com, is working.
News:
--One of my pics was recently on a billboard! Here's the shot: www.flickr.com/photos/mybluemuse/3972998950/
--Recently one of my photos, Seacsape, was bought and is being used in the latest Dell Commercial.
--Also, it was just announced that my photo, My Three Nuns, was chosen by a panel of judges to be included in the Tate: Street and Studio exhibition and corresponding Blurb book with 100 other Flickr winning entries.
--One of my photos, Row of Pollarded Trees, is going to be included in a Horticulture textbook.
--A picture of my two Havanese, Babalu and Desi made the cover of a 2009 calendar.
--Monterey Bay Aquarium has asked for me to donate images from a recent visit and I was happy to oblige.
--A pic of my boys was featured throughout an Animal Planet: Dogs 101 video about the Havanese breed. They didn't ask permission but it's still cool. I'm just floored how people use Flickr as a stock agency without asking permission.
--Several of my images have been chosen for inclusion in the Flickr Getty Collection.

I know few people so extraordinarily talented in several areas yet also generous in their praise of others. It's not enough to be good at things. One must also be good at being. P.J.'s enthusiasm for her friends and admiration for her subjects shine through in all she does. I am tickled when she comments and pleased when she posts. She has even made me appreciate the small dog. And even though this paragraph seems like it's composed of several disparate sentences, I am not drunk when I say these things. Thanks, Peej, for being such a wonderful person.
Read lessPJ is one of the best flickr contacts EVER . I could end it there, but what kinda testimonial would that be? .. I can't even begin to compete with her wit and humour - so i won't. Pj makes the flickr community that much better - she shares, laughs, cries with you and lets not forget she sends the best gifts!
I think that MyBlueMuse is hugely talented but as she is also my wife I might be a little biased. For someone who only took to a camera seriously in the last 12 months her eye and technique is developing frighteningly quickly. Among our friends and family, I have been known as the photo-geek - I feel my title under threat. Long may it be so.
