We're a skills exchange providing free creative and production skills for your arts projects, its own arts festival and a culture blog

So how does it work?

Simple really. Our skills exchange functions as a co-op, a punk shop that works on the gift economy principle. In other words rather than use money in exchange for goods and services we use our own skills and resources as an alternative form of economic exchange

So what do I have to do to join?

Well, first thing to do is join which you do by pooling your skills into our bank. This usually means offering an hour or two of your time a week and posting up any scrap you might have lying around

Then what?

That's up to you but next time you're looking to create, develop or produce an arts event or project you can start right here where you'll have unlimited access to the collective skills and resources of of the entire co - op to realise your idea. To make it happen

So why do you do it?

Because I can. Because I care. Because I want autonomy and the space and freedom to make, play, experiment and fail whenever I like and I know others do to. And every time someone comes on board we all get one step closer to turning this resource into a viable creative economy, a real alternative to the current economic arts structure that is based on state funding bodies, local authorities, bureaucracy and red tape

We currently host a skills bank, arts blog and DIY arts festival so have a look around, read more about us and join up, it's free and it's yours.
