Flickr holds a rather special place in my life, as it is how I met and married my husband. As far as I know, we were the first couple in the Flickr community to meet and marry because of this website, and it has continued to be an inspiring, creative and important part of both of our lives since that first click that brought us together in 2005.
You can read about it >here if you'd like a bit more information on us.
About me:
well read, addicted to caffiene, nicotine, and music. I was raised by a roaming, rabid pack of artists and musicians and this explains a lot about me. What else would you like to know? I hate writing this kind of stuff, it's like filling out a work application.
***
This is important:
Due to a recent (ahem) *rash* of what appear to be pervy people wanting to be my "friend," I feel I should make the following notice available:
I WILL NOT HESITATE TO BLOCK YOU:
-->If you are a little grey boxface with no pictures posted and all of your contacts are girls with their tits out.
-->I will block you if you are a person who has actually mastered the art of pressing the shutter release on your digital camera well enough to take cheeky pictures of your naughty bits, and posted an obligatory photo or two.
Who opened the porn doors on flickr all of the sudden?
Take my name off that list, please.

Valerie is one of the nicest, most genuine people on Flickr. She's all about exploring life's little truths through her images, and her photostream, will make you smile and think. And smile some more.
She was one of the first people to befriend me on Flickr. Her work is beautiful and inspiring. :)
I better hurry up and drive up the canyon to meet Valerie face-to-face before she ships off to the UK and I miss that chance. She's one of my favorite people on Flickr, ever since not long after I joined, she urged me to post in some group or other cuz "all the cool kids are doing it!" I don't know that I ever became one of the cool kids, but it was sure a nice welcome. And I keep coming back to this cool kid's photostream to see her latest creative and beautiful and usually poetic photos.
Read lessalthough we have never met(hopefully one day we will) she has been invaluable to me personally as an online friend. In the fucked up world of myspace, she has been a guiding light. An i salute her and wish her all the happiness in the world with her new husband to be. s x
I'd been on Flickr a week when Valerie wrote me the nicest email, thereby deepening my burgeoning addiction in one fell swoop. I'd been on Flickr a week when Valerie wrote me the nicest email, thereby deepening my burgeoning addiction in one fell swoop. Her shots are moody, blurry, colourful and beautiful, sometimes all at once. After six months of chatting, on the phone and online, I had to go see her, so I flew 5,000 miles for a bliss-full weekend. She's my mountain angel and I love her like trees love sunlight.
Read lessShes really nice and she says nice things to me even though i am often mean and say weird/bad things to her/everybody else.
Valerie is a creative dynamo – writer, artist, photographer, prolific lover of music and words and altogether probably the coolest person in Colorado. Something of an inspiration in fact. May she live in eternal English springtime.
