Lucky is the dude. The man. Everyone should know this guy, and if you don't, you're missing out. It's hard to write a testimonial for a best friend...nothing I say seems to quite describe how awesome he is. On top of his constant friendship & support over the last decade, he was the main person who encouraged my photography all those years ago, before he even knew what an SLR was. Hard to imagine that now - he's still encouraging me, but now he's the one teaching me how to use a camera :p Lucky's photography is stunningly beautiful (and occasionally gross) and soooo creative... and it's full of the wonderful humour, love, energy, intelligence, social justice, and outright dorkiness that makes him who he is. I've taken a long time to post this testimonial because I didn't know how to articulate just how amazing Lucky is as a person and as a friend... I still don't think I have... get to know him and you'll get the idea :)

Lucky's photostream stands out for a number of reasons. Firstly, he's got a cracking eye for a great photo. That's pretty obvious really. Secondly, much like myself, he has defied all of the odds and managed to land himself a beautiful lady who is miles out of his league (Hiiiiiigh Fiiiiiiiiive?). The two of us give hope to all weird looking half Lankan guys all over the world. But the thing that really drags you into Lucky's world is that he's a bloody nice guy, and has a wicked outlook on life. Have a look at his 52 week project and you'll see what I mean. Photos and discussions about his ancestry, on being a vegetarian, on blood donation, on being a great big nerd (he's a self-confessed geek)... it just keeps going, and it's always worth a read. One of my favorite contacts here and one of the dudes that I know I'll be sharing a beer with one day (actually, make mine a wine, Lucky) :-)

ACME - instantly this term gets me thinking of a certain coyote's fav line of products - but in Lucky's case it is literally all that this gentle giant stands for. Lucky's point of view on life, the universe and everything seems to have none of rose coloured glasses that the bulk of us seem to be looking through - rather a degree of clarity that only the young or young at heart hold true too, a willingness to accept and to believe. His energy, enthusiasm respect for both himself and others is truly inspirational - I've read Desiderata many I time in my life but rarely met any person so capable of emulating it's simple virtues. It's been a real privilege getting to know the man over the last 12 month's and I look forwards always to more opportunities to shoot the breeze with and learn from Lucky in '09
