Like many, I've had an interest in photography for a while, but never had the time or (more importantly) the money to pursue it as a hobby until recently.

 

I purchased my first dslr camera at the end of August 2007 as an early birthday present to myself. Prior to my purchase, I rummaged through books at my local library, ordered books online, and searched websites trying to learn as much as I can about photography; essentially, reading anything I could get my hands on (which I still continue to do).

 

From what started out for me just wanting a hobby and a creative outlet, has now turned into an obsession.

 

I can't begin to tell you how inspiring it is to see some of the photos on Flickr. It has made me stop and really look at the environment around me.
