It is in our harmony, respect and peace that we express our love for the Lord and His Creation.

May the Lord bless everyone.

Sikh Gurus have propagated the message of "many paths" leading to the One God and ultimate salvation for all souls who tread on the path of righteousness. They have supported the view that proponents of all faiths can, by doing good and virtuous deeds and by remembering the Lord can certainly achieve salvation. The students of the Sikh faith are told to accept ALL leading faiths as possible vehicle for attaining spiritual enlightenment provided the faithful study, ponder and practice the teachings of their prophets and leaders. The Sri Guru Granth Sahib says: "Do not say that the Vedas, the Bible and the Koran are false. Those who do not contemplate them are false." (SGGS Ang 1350).

Most of the 15 Bhagats that contributed to the Sri Guru Granth Sahib were non-Sikhs and belonged to faiths including Hinduism and Islam.

Sikhs have always being eager exponents of interfaith dialogue and will not only accept the right of other to practise their faith but have fought and laid down their lives to protect this right for others. So much so that the Ninth Sikh Guru did something unparalleled in history. He as a founder of one religion laid down His life for the right of people to practise a different faith altogether. At a time of religious persecution, Guru Tegh Bahadar hearing the pleas of the Hindu Kashmiri Pandit, gave His life protecting the right of Hindus to practise their religion.

For these reasons, the Sikhs have practise their faith as an Interfaith religion and take a lead in uniting all the different peoples and religions of the world so that together peace and prosperity can be found for all the peoples of this Globe and the suffering of the poor of the Third world can be properly addressed together. The message of unity of the faiths is summed up in this quotation from the Guru Granth Sahib: "One who recognizes that all spiritual paths lead to the One shall be emancipated. One who speaks lies shall fall into hell and burn. In all the world, the most blessed and sanctified are those who remain absorbed in Truth." (SGGS Ang 142).

The Fight for Justice Amongst Sikhs; A Short Story from an EyeWitness:

A girl student and her companions had managed to come away from the Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple), crawling on their stomaches across the small bridge. They were bundled into a room on the ground floor of the Akal Takht. They kept sitting there, having nothing to eat and no water to drink. To continue, in her own words, "Helicopters were encircling the Temple from above. After the helicopters completed their circle, at about 11:30 a.m. on June 5, the huge water tank inside the Temple complex was fired at. The tank could not be broken even after the initial 10 shells hit the tank. Then one bomb hit the tank after which it burst and all the water gushed out. The fighters who had taken their positons beneath the tank were killed. They continued the firing till the evening of June 5 and then it was about 8.30 p.m. It was completly dark when they entered accompanied by very heavy firing. The blasting was so severe that I thought that I had reached some other world. We were 40-50 persons huddled together in the room, including women and children, even a child of six months. In the next room were the pilgrims who had come on June 3 to celebrate Guru Parb but they had been trapped. The upper protion of the Akal Takht had been fired at by the Army and completely destroyed. Pieces of the Guru Granth Sahib were flying in the air and littering the ground. The place seemed to have been transformed into a haunted house. Then the tank entered. It had powerful searchlights. I thought the ambulance had come to attend to the dead and injured. But it had turned out the opposite. The tanks went riding past us. From the tanks the announcement came, loud and clear: "Please come out, God's blessings are with you. We will reach you home absolutely safe and sound," There were some among us who were frantic for some water, they came out in the open. In the morning I saw their dead bodies lying on the Parkarma. This was the worst kind of treachery."

Those Sikhs who fight against injustice, the Freedom Fighters who seek justice for the victims of the 1984 massacres and all those injustices prior to and after '84, are not against any religion. We are just against them individuals who support the massacres, the injustice, only them 'hindus' and persons are we against.
