Shri. Sreenivasa Hebbar M. was born at Thirthahalli, Shimoga District, Karnataka, on 23-06-1935. He has not allowed his age to dampen his photographic interests and even now he considers himself young, as far as Photography and YPS are concerned. After schooling at Shimoga, Shri Hebbar obtained a degree in Engineering during 1955 and later served MICO as Senior Design Engineer for 25 years. Thereafter, the creative artist in him prompted him to run his own creative design & production unit related to print media, for as many as another 25 years. In the meanwhile, he had taken the arduous task along with a few other dedicated members to uplift the then ailing Youth Photographic Society (YPS) Bangalore and succeeded in bringing the name and fame, besides the Premium Position that the YPS-Bangalore, now enjoys throughout the country. It was Mr. Hebbar who nurtured the culture of conducting All India Salons – annually, during his stint as President at YPS and that is a continuing event, even now. He is considered as one of the foundation pillars of the Youth Photographic Society. Much interested in Art & Science of photography – Mr. Hebbar is not a snap shooter. He was also a working committee member of The Federation of Indian Photography which is the national body (Indian Unit) of the International FIAP Organization, for many years. He was a member of Photographic Society of America, too. He has been always a faculty member in several photography workshops conducted by YPS, and various other institutions as well, such as Madhyam Communications, Madhyam Samskruthi Kendra, etc.

He was awarded with Photographic International Credential - AFIAP in the year 1984. He was conferred with “Honorary YPS” Citation and honored for his tremendous contribution to YPS. He has also got a Diploma in Photography from Academy of Photography, Hungary. The Federation of Indian Photography has conferred on him the “Honorary FIP “in the year 2009. In the year 2011 as " Best Photographer Award - 2011" by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan through the E. Hanumantha Rao Foundation, He was blessed for his "Life time achievement in Photography" by Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt Mantralayam, on 30th Sept.2012, speak for his credentials as a distinguished photo artist. He is also an Awardee of “Narasimha Prashasthi” for his services to photography by Koota Mahajagathu Bangalore

As a Social worker, he is serving as a director on the Board of a school for multiple disabled children in Bangalore. He is also counseling the needy people through astrological sciences and he is a Member of Bharatiya Jyotisha Samsthanam. He has also been conferred with the Title “Jyothisha Visharada” for his abundant knowledge and excellence in astrology. Titles as “Jyotisha Mahopadhyaya “ at 4th International Astrological Conference 2012. And as “ Muhootha Praveena “ at Jyotisha purohita Maha sammelana 2013.

0n 28th September 2013, Rotary Bangalore South & Karnataka Civil Defence Corps have bestow on him the “ Appreciation Award “ in recognition of dedicated service as Teacher by Governor of Karnataka, on the occasion of Teachers Day Celebration.
