Artist Statement

Allison Adams is an active artist and educator from Fairbanks, Newfoundland but currently living and teaching in beautiful Prince George, British Columbia. Graduating with a BED. and BFA; Visual Arts from Memorial University of Newfoundland Allison has learnt skills in a variety of mediums including Painting, Drawing, Sculpture, Printmaking and Digital Arts. Being involved in both group and solo self-titled exhibitions Allison's art focuses on the theme of home and growing up near the ocean. Her work is mostly abstract, experimental and process based alluding to the sublime and powerful nature of the sea. Although very busy with her own practice Allison loves to teach art, empowering students to find their passion and to express themselves. Her teaching philosophy suggests that every child, when encouraged to follow and explore their passions can and will succeed. With an interest in arts education and love of travel Allison has found herself on the total opposite side of the country, ready for her next adventure.
