I'm The Girl in the Plastic Mac. Basically, I style myself as a mature 1960s/1970s eccentric, spinster lady. Just like the character Arabella Figg (Order of the Phoenix - 2007) in her plastic mac. My fashion look is a tribute to all the mature ladies that I recall from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, who could regularly be seen in their plastic macs and nylon macs. This look is epitomised by the actor Gwyneth Guthrie as Mrs Mack, in various episodes of Take the High Road on Scottish TV. Check out episode 239, 18th September 1984. #mrsmack

My hashtag #thegirlintheplasticmac is a tribute to actor Tracey Crisp, when she appears in the end credits, the original “Girl in the Plastic Mac” (The Sandwich Man - 1966). My favourite style and colour being both Dora Bryan’s plastic mac (A Taste of Honey - 1961), and Ann Margret’s plastic mac (Tommy - 1975). There’s Michèle Morgan as Joan (Joan of Paris - 1942) and countless other actors and ladies.

IMPORTANT:

I am a mature transsexual, living the life in a way that minimises the hassle while still being 24/7 trans-female. I have been posting photos of me here, since May 2012 under this username. Also even earlier under a different username. The photos therefore chronicle quite some journey, in my life, from closet transvestite to openly female. What I am not, is a professional photographer, not even an amateur one. Consequently, the quality of my photos isn’t very good and the lighting is hopeless. What I’m not commenting on here is how convincing I appear, my styles and tastes or my makeup skills. However, even since the mid 2000s, I have used computer editing tools to enhance lighting, camera shake, red eye, make up and much more.

Quite a few years ago, I stopped taking new photos, because I had an enormous backlog of stock, which I continued to post almost weekly. I still have a backlog of about 4,000 photos but decided not to post them. Instead I started taking and posting new ones. However, not getting any younger, being able to afford much travel, having the time or freedom for loads of varied experiences, I soon took the decision to employ any tool available to vary my photos, rather than publishing loads in the same venue or situation, whether indoors or outside.

My photos since mid 2023, do include a number of my friends and acquaintances but they most definitely are enhanced, mainly for the background effects. Call those enhancement tools what you will, photoshop, FaceApp, AI, I don’t care. Pure AI images are in my view, almost immediately obvious. I don’t mind seeing them, I have a number of them myself, that are marked as such. As far as I’m concerned, Flickr is a photo sharing site, not a dating app or a tranny contest. What you can guarantee is, when it comes to myself and friends, our faces and bodies are real. Others in a crowd aren’t real. Since the beginning of 2024, the “Set content type” of my photos has changed from Photo to Virtual Photography/Illustration/Art. If you don’t want my photos in your groups, don’t accept photos of that type. If you don’t like my photos because they’re Virtual Photography or Illustration/Art, go away and don’t look at them. If you tell me and/or criticise my choice in writing, I will block you.

THE REST:

Most of the time, I have a feminine androgynous appearance. However, I love 50s & 60s fashion especially skirt/dress suits, little cardigans & pencil skirts. I do like shopping and experimenting with whatever is fashionable now but prefer classic fashion. I especially love the Roman Originals label for my clothes, also Klass, Autonomy and Planet labels.

After experiencing a sudden religious epiphany, I was surprised to find myself becoming a committed Christian. It’s more than the fact I’m a devotee of ladies clothing, worn by mature ladies who worship in their Sunday best. However, I do love to dress on Sundays, or any day of the week that’s convenient, in my smart ladies wear, in order to attend services. It’s most definitely a non-denomination Christianity. I am employed by our church into a lot of unpaid work like cleaning, serving in the church cafe, and the charity shop. I also provide IT support and an element of pastoral care for the elders.

Yes, I have a deep and special love for plastic items of clothing, especially for traditional macs from the UK. It's a love and obsession that is as deep rooted as my gender issues. Macs have been a part of my life for as long as the gender issues, both going back to when I was young. The macs I love are the ones that were so prevalent in the mid 20th century. I adore both plastic macs and nylon macs, of which I have many. I try to be as feminine as I possibly can but, inevitably, when I am wearing feminine clothes and feeling pretty and also attractive to others, I just can't help myself slipping my arms into the sleeves of a plastic or nylon raincoat to become the mature spinster auntie that I have always wished to be. I particularly love such ladies folding rainwear for the fashion aspect of the look, particularly how it looks with dresses or two piece suits. Some rainwear holds a particular frisson for me, particularly semi-transparent, natural colour ladies buttoning plastic macs and buttoning ladies navy blue nylon macs. However, being transgender, I find it most peculiar and ironic that when I'm fully feminine, my biggest thrill is to wear a men's buttoning Genuine Pakamac Plastic Raincoat!

I also have a special love of firm foundation wear and mature female corsetry, especially corselettes, long line bras, firm open girdles, panty girdles, waist slips and full slips.

I love keeping in touch with old friends and people who like what they see from me. Don't hesitate to contact me if you are over 21.
