Telling Harringay Tales:

Harringay was once world renowned and it will be again if I have my way.

I believe that building social capital, strengthening communities and protecting our urban environment needs to happen outside my front door, so here I post photos of the good, the bad and the ugly in my area and invite comment and debate about what needs to be done.

I wish all my pictures could be of flowers and lovely views of the New River but alas, the rubbish, fly tipping and litter keeps spoiling the view so I turn my camera on that too much of the time.

This photostream is not about taking lovely pictures (although I do try) but is a photoblog of the kinds of things I see and what I and others try and do about it.

For example in one month, I uploaded 68 pictures of 'Better Haringey'. I took many more photos than that of the state of the streets and I reported many more things than I photographed to the council. I engaged in discussion with others in the Borough of Haringey (which aims to be the Greenest in London) about intelligent solutions to ongoing problems.

I like to connect with other activists who care about their shaping their community and making it successful.
