My first 'real' website: www.mqcvisions.net, plus a blog (News and updates)
There you will find thematically organized the photos I have here, plus a lot of other shots that I 'unflickered'...
"Your first 10,000 photographs are your worst".
(Henri Cartier-Bresson)
I started this 'hobby' in 1980 (I was very young, at that time...), with a Pentax ME Super. Some years later (1987), after changing the body of my camera (drowned in sea water by my father) an escalation occurred... I sat up a darkroom, and continued shooting and developing until 1999. Now, after years of inactivity and a period dedicated to video, I decided to do something good for myself, and started again to express my feelings trying to catch the reality on the edge, with a single, unrepeatable shot. I feel better, after this choice. The flickr community is great, and gives you a lot of ideas and motivating force.
20/05/2007 : Just bought a 'pro' account... I couldn't resist to better organize my shots and upload original sized images... ;)
14/06/2007 : After this censorship 'thing' I REALLY regret to have financed Flickr.
26/07/2007 : Still thinking about the censorship issue... maybe I am a bit less edgy, now, but worried, because this seems a trend, not only flickr-related...
08/12/2007 : I spent a lot of years trying to be quiet, and find satisfaction in the common activities of every day… then suddenly I remembered there was something I knew: imagination. Or images in action. Or images, how to "make" them. Those are images of my mind, or of your mind… All these images are around us, and I literally mean me, you, everyone… they are there to be seen and caught. And from those images, life arises. Again.
02/01/2008 : Got a domain, and published my first 'real' web site!!! www.mqcvisions.net!

Marco is one of the most smart and interesting persons I have ever met, not only at Flickr. His erudition in many different fields is outstanding; something so rare nowadays. Looking at his photos, we better always bear in mind that each of them should be viewed in a larger context. Many of his photographs represents architectural and/or technical "things". They are not just interesting views, but they are also "pregnant" with historical, cultural, ethical and so on contexts, they are a part of a larger frame of reference. In the same way, he interprets the photos of his friends. He is able to say much more about my photos than I am able to say about them, because he sees far beyond visible levels. I get the impression Marco's photos are a part of a metaphysical system and he is able to involve his friends' photos in his metaphysical universe. Marco is very sensible about anything limiting human freedom. He is critical about freedom issues in society he lives in (and in any society in general), about internet and media censorship and about freedom in photography as well. This is why he rarely takes photos of people - people have free will and he couldn't make them pose. He wouldn't even like to change the position of anything in order to take a photo of it. He listen to the world instead of manipulating it and grasps what the world is saying to him. In brief, communicating with Marco would enrich your horizon. It would make you think.
